While I don’t always go out looking for it, I have a fascination with Public Art. And I like to photograph it. I even published a Delmarva Scenes Calendar last year of Public Art found on the Delmarva Peninsula.
I had the opportunity of photographing two new Public Art Mosaics that were installed this month. Both of them had broad interaction with the community
On April 18th Kent County High installed a mosaic mural. The project was done through the efforts of the High School’s Art Teachers, Stephanie Spenser and Noel Morris. The community was invited to a couple of after school time to work on the mosaic along side of their art students. Other Art students in the school system was also part of the project
On Wednesday, April 25, 2018 I attended the revealing of the Rock Hall Mosaic Mural at Bayside Foods. The project was spearheaded by the Rock Hall Garden Club. Artist Jennifer Wagner worked with the community and especially the students at Rock Hall Elementary to create a work.
