The weather of second weekend of August this year was one of the best weekends of the summer. For the 12th time Pirates of all ages sailed the Chesapeake Bay, or traveled by car, to the town of Rock Hall for the Annual Pirates and Wenches Weekend.
It’s a shame that the event has had the reputation of being a bawdy and rowdy weekend. That may have been the case in the past but in the last few years it has become a real family event.
I have been attending and photographing parts of the event for several years. This year and last it has been on Main Street that I have spent my time. I have been working with the committee of volunteers that put on the event as the Entertainment Coordinator (my just created title). Working with these entertainers, I have to say that even though they may look like a band of Pirates, they are a group of people who throughly enjoy entertaining, especially entertaining the kids.
