Just as it does at the end of every month the calendar flips its page to the next month. This month not only are we moving it to another year, we are moving in to another decade.
But is it really any different than just moving ahead another month?
I am looking at things a little differently at the end this month. A few things have happened that has made me reflect on my life and work.
One thought that has crossed my mind quite a few times is, “Am I a good photographer? Or, do I just take good photos.” I’m sure that I fall somewhere between the two.
But I also know that there are two areas that I am weak. And I want improve in both of these areas in 2020.
They both have to do with working with individuals and group to do portraits. I have offered my services to some of my friends. But even though I disagree with their reasons, “I not pretty enough, I’m too old, no one wants a photo of me” I still haven’t convinced them. I probably just need to be more persuasive. This type of service falls under my “Artistic Portraitures – Click Here for more details”
Another service that I plan to offer in 2020 is one that is fairly new. This being “Personal Brand Photography”, which is the practice of marketing people and their careers as brands.
This year I haven’t worked on my Delmarva Scenes project all that much. I have been posting a “Delmarva Scenes’ Photo of the Weekend” at the ChesaDel Crier. Put out three calendar of photos for 2020 and made some of the Delmarva Scenes photos available as Greeting Cards. But I didn’t get out as much as I would have liked or that I should have. I also didn’t do a very good job of marketing either. I can’t promise I will do more in 2020. I am looking to go on day trips and write about those trips, along with photographs, for the ChesaDel Crier.
In 2020, I will turn 62. While it’s not really old, I know my better days are behind me. But I still feel that some of my most creative days are ahead. I would like to have YOU as part of it.
