In the courtyard of the old County Courthouse in Centreville Maryland sits a bronze statue of the British monarch, Queen Anne. Queen Anne’s County was charted in 1706 during her 12 year rule, 1702-1714.

Queen Anne did not have a heir and the British Throne was given to George I.

The statute was dedicated on June 17, 1977.
