We all got fooled. I know I did and it wasn’t even April Fool’s Day. March came in more like a lamb, but stay a lion during the month. Letting us all know that Winter wasn’t over and the Spring Equinox is really only the day when the light of the day and the dark of the night is the same. February spoiled us all that the warmer days were coming.
I am hoping that the April Fool has already come and that the first of April is a beautiful Saturday and we can enjoy a nice sunny warm day.
Although I am planning to be at my shop in Greensboro. And that isn’t an April Fool.
As the title says “Time Marches On”. In a way it’s hard to believe that 1/4 of the year is gone. But it is the part of the year I dislike and I’m glad that it’s over. I didn’t get nearly as much of my 1st quarter planned work accomplish.
When Positivi-Tea and I re-opened our shop in February, I decided to have a theme, ‘Waters of the Chesapeake”, for the prints I have on display. From that I have decided that I will begin rotating themes throughout the year, doing a new theme every other month. The next theme is ‘Sunrise-Sunsets’. Beginning on April 1st I will begin the transition and completed before Easter Weekend. I’m not formally calling it a Gallery Show, but it is. Will I have an opening reception. Probably not. But we are planning on having an Easter Weekend Special.
Every month I try to attend 2 to 3 business networking function a week. When I introduce myself I say that ‘I’m a Photographer creating beautiful photos of people and places’.
With everyone walking around with a camera the need of a photographer is becoming less. Think of the old phrase, A dime a dozen. I have often wondered, is a photographer an artist. Probably most aren’t. They take pictures. Maybe I’m not much more than that, but I still think of myself as a Fine Art Photographer.
I am still offering opportunities for people to have an inexpensive photo session so that I can update my portfolio. That offer is still there. See the Special Offer for more details. Spring is a great time to use nature as the backdrop for some awesome photos. It’s the time for Senior Photos. I would love to do a photo of you with your Senior.
My project “Explore Chesapeake County” has been a projects that I took some time away. I am revamping the idea and changes will be coming.
2023 is the year that I turn 65. Not that long ago it was thought as the time to retire. And in 2020 I had thought about retiring. Once 2021 arrived and the pandemic began to fade I realized that the work I was doing isn’t really work, it’s what I want to do.
And while I may not attend, be part of, or cover as a photojournalist as many events as I did pre-pandemic, I will still be out there exploring and sharing photographs as I travel throughout Chesapeake Country.
