Here we are, into the 2nd month of 2024. This post is to bring you up-to-date on what’s happening with me and my business and some of the upcoming adventures.
After a successful end of the year at the Eclectic Gift Shop in Greensboro, MD I decided to continue. While I am a photographer, most of my work has been in the Fine Arts arena. This year I am focusing more on selling my Art and less being a photographer. Although I am open to during events and portraits if requested. I have expanded the gifts that feature my photos. Of course Wall Art is available for purchase. Along with my cards, I also have mouse pads, coasters, cutting boards and lip balm holders that feature my photographs
At the shop I am continuing with the concept of having a backdrop set up as a selfie station. I am partnering with other local artisans as a place they can display their works.
For awhile there has been a Health and Wellness section, although it really hasn’t been very visible or promoted. And the most recent addition to that section are Essential Oils from Simply Earth.
It’s been awhile since I did a themed Gallery Show. I will be having an Open House at the shop with a Gallery Show on the evening of February 29, 2024 from 4-7pm. The theme for the show is “Absence of Color”.
I began a project “366 in 24” where I’ve been posting one of my photos each day in 2024 on my Photographs by SG Atkinson FB page and on IG at SGAtkinson_photographer. A common saying in business is that people like to do business with people they know and trust. Over the past 6 years, and really even before that, I have been attending Business Networking events. A common thought is that when you meet someone at one of these events is to do a 1-on-1 with them to get to know them, their business and build trust. Beginning in January I set one of my goals as on average doing a 1-on-1 each week. So far I have been keeping up with this goal and have most of my 1-on-1’s for February scheduled. There are still 10 months, 44 weeks, left in the year to schedule ones. Let’s set one.
