A Detour to Wye Mills

I’ve attended networking events in Annapolis where I am known as the Arts and Entertainment man from the shore. Of course lately these have been held virtually. I’ve been asked where to go on the shore. Usually they are looking for places on the Lower Shore since they are going to the Beach.

I tell them that on their way to the beach to take a short detour off of US 50 by turning right at the light at Chesapeake College to Wye Mills.

Wye Mills is the home of the Wye Mill which has been in nearly continuous operation since 1682. It still is in operation with nearly all of its late-18th-century equipment.
