Drives with Steve – Wye Mills

One of my goals this year is to take a drive a few times a month, the actual goal is once a week, to a location and take a few photos.

Sometimes like today it may be just a quick stop at a location and other times it’ll be a longer more organized trip.

On my way home from a nice lunch with some Networking friends in Arnold I decided to take a short detour and go to Wye Mills. Wye Mills is the home of the Wye Mill which has been in nearly continuous operation since 1682. It still is in operation. It was the home of the Wye Oak, Maryland’s honorary state tree. The tree was destroyed on a June 6, 2002 by a severe thunderstorm and a clone of the old tree stands in its current location.
