Drives with Steve: Denton’s Downtown

I had an assignment to photograph the Grand Opening and Ribbon cutting for the Shore Crier on May 2, 2019. I decided to leave a little early to take a walk in Downtown Denton, the Court House and the town’s Arts and Entertainment District. The Denton Artsway covers 90 acres of downtown Denton. Photographs from the Grand Opening/Ribbon Cutting can be see on the FB Page for Shore Crier

Denton Roosevelt Speech

On Labor Day September 5, 1938 President Franklin D. Roosevelt delivered a speech in Denton. The speech was nationally broadcasted on radio.

This is one of two location that I am aware that Roosevelt delivered a speech on Maryland’s Eastern Shore. The other location is at Washington College in Chestertown. In Cambridge there is a monument to Roosevelt with a portion of the ship that Roosevelt used during WWII.
