TB: After Sandy

After Sandy - Foot of High Street in Chestertown
It’s been awhile since I posted a “Throw-back Photo”. Once there was thoughts to post one a week. It obviously hasn’t happen. But it’s never too late to start again.

In 2012 I began life as a photojournalist covering events and happenings in Kent County, MD and posting photos at “Local in Kent”, a facebook page and Website that I had created a couple of years earlier to share information. The page still exist. The Website is still around too, although it’s now the Kent County Crier.

In late October Super Storm Sandy paid a visit. Mostly it slipped by off shore and most of the damage of the storm was in New England. But there was a little flooding in Kent County as this photo represents.

At the foot of Chestertown’s High Street, the water levels came up to Washington College’s Custom House. I heard that before I arrived to get this shot the water levels were higher. But not as high as it was about a decade earlier with Hurricane Isabelle.

My goal is to bring back a “Throw Back” photo each Tuesday.

A B&W artistic version of this photo is available for purchase at my “Fine Art America” page
