It’s No April Fool

Many things begin in April, and some things finish, others just continue.

I guess you can say that me.

At the close of February I held a “Absence of Color” Gallery show along with an Open House at the Eclectic Gift Shop that I run and own. The Gallery Show went well, although I would have liked it to have a few more attendees. I sold a couple of the Gallery Show prints. As April begins the show is over. Some of these prints are now on display on the shop walls taking the place of others. Those are now set aside to come out at another day.

Since the New Year began, I haven’t been taking very many photos. A couple of events here and there, but hardly any photographic adventures. I am hoping to change that this month. I have a photoshoot scheduled for the end of the 1st week in April, a trip to the ocean in Mid-April and plans for a photo-walk at a nearby town.

My business coach tells me if I write down my goals there’s a better chance that they will be accomplished, or for me just to get started. That’s why I mentioned the plans for doing a photo-walk.

But there are a couple of other goals I have for April, besides the ones that are inherited in running a business. Networking, doing 1-on-1, and have regular open hours at shop. The biggest one is to have a Workshop on the 4th Thursday of the month at the shop. I am determined to have it this month. A workshop related to my newest enterprise, soap making using the Simply Earth products that I’ve just introduced into the shop.

Lately I’ve been thinking that I need to do a better job at reminding my business friends about a couple of things. One of them is sending hand-written cards to clients and promotional clients. Hand-written cards have an almost 100% open rate. See my thoughts on sending them HERE. I should also put together a 1 pager on Promotional Gifts.

The weather starts getting better in March and Spring arrives in the middle of the month, but it’s really April that spring begins. Things are blooming and that’s what I hope happens at the shop.

Happy Spring and hope to see everyone soon!
