Summer’s Gone – Moving into Fall

Wheat Field - 21 Days to Fall
Tomorrow is Labor Day, one of those days that is traditionally thought as the end of summer. One of the others is the 1st day of school, which for some has already happen and for others it’s the day after Labor Day. Of course the first day of Autumn, or Fall, comes on September 22nd. On my Facebook Page as well as Instagram I am doing a countdown of summer photos, 21 Days to Fall.

For me August has been a story of two months. For the first three weeks I was very busy with the last 10 days being ones that were mostly of rest.

Two of the weekends I attended my High School reunion. You may be wondering two? A couple of years ago I helped establish an all-class reunion for Kent County High School that happens on the first Saturday in August. It was actually our second reunion, since last year’s due to Cover-19 had to be cancelled. This second one was attended by just as many as the first and plans are to continue next year and beyond.

The third Saturday in August, every 5 years, has been my class reunion. I had missed many of those reunion, but have attended the last three. Even though I am a part of the reunion photograph I set up the shot and the camera for the annual photo. It was great seeing friends of the Class of ’76.

For the past several years I have worked as part of the Rock Hall Pirates and Wenches Weekend, held on the 2nd weekend in August. There was a little stress since after taking a year off due to Covid-19 and the up-tick due to the Delta Variance, on whether people would attend. They did attend. Maybe not quite in the numbers that we had hoped, but still it was a very successful event. One that is becoming a great family summer event as can see from the photo.

At the end of August I announced two 2022 Calendars to ago along with the 16 Month Calendar I release a couple of months ago. Chesapeake Country Roads Mid-Shore, companion to the 16 Month Chesapeake Country Roads and Kent County in Pictures.

What are my plans for September? I’m looking forward to an amazing September. I have already lined up to do a couple of Fall Photos at some beautiful spots in the area. I’m always looking to do more.

Do you need a Fall Photo? Of course you do. Everyone does. Let’s get together and create a photo that you will remember and cherish for the rest of your lifetime and those that follow.
