May I Create

May Day and May the Fourth is now behind us. These are just the beginning of the what is upcoming for May. May is also a time for rebirth, the trees are spreading their wings, their leaves. Seeds are being planted, sprouting and growing. The light of day is longer and we are out enjoying the warmth of the Sun.

Sailboats I have been spending a lot of time the last few months Networking, including one I hosted at the Eclectic Gift Shop in Greensboro. Ask most business if networking bring you business, the answer is Yes. But it’s not something that is once and it’s done. It takes time.

It does work. I just made my biggest one time sale and it definitely came about due to networking. One of my sailboat photos will be on a Thank You card.

In a couple of weeks I will be attending the Annual Multi-Chamber Mixer that Chesapeake College hosts for the 5 Chamber of Commerce’s of Maryland’s Mid-Shore. Of Course I’ll be there I can’t remember the last time I didn’t attend it. I hope to see you there.

There are a couple of big events in May that I will be photographing. One the 2nd Saturday of May, the Town of Galena holds their annual Dogwood Festival. This year it’s on May 11th. I will be there primary to photograph the parade that begins at 9:30am, but will be hanging around for the fun.

Mother's Day Ideas from the Eclectic Gift Shop

I will be hosting two events at the Eclectic Gift Shop this month. At 8:30am on Monday May 13th I will be opening the door inviting business individual in and around Caroline County, Maryland to come in for a meet and greet. I had held one on the 4th Monday of April which was small, but a nice gathering of business individuals. There was an idea of holding on each 4th Monday, only I discovered that the 4th Monday of May is Memorial Day. Instead if waiting until the end of June to hold another, I decided to re-invent it on the 2nd Monday. The plan is to continue it in June, and who knows I may also have a 4th Monday as well. Hope to see all of my business friends, current and future ones, there.

The other event I’m hosting at the shop is a 4th Wednesday Workshop beginning at 5:30pm. This month’s workshop will be a discussion on marketing.

Earlier when I mentioned the Galena Dogwood Festival, I said there was an event at the end of the month. And that is the Annual Chestertown Tea Party, which will be honoring the 250th Anniversary of the dumping of the tea in the Chester River.
