Icy Hebe – 2017

November 11, 2017 was one of those mornings that the temperature dropped below freezing unexpectedly. Usually the fountain in Chestertown is turned off before the first freeze. This year it wasn’t and the fountain water froze giving us a very unusual and amazing show. It was by pure accident I was able to shoot this photo. I had a morning commitment and as I was returning home that early afternoon something told me that I should go the Fountain Park. This was the sight that I saw.

Harbor Sunset

This sunset at Georgetown Harbor on the Sassafras River wasn’t planned, but was shot on purpose. The Sassafras River Business Council (SRBC) was in the middle of planning for the 2104 Taste of the Sassafras. After the meeting I decided to go to the location where the event was to be held to take a couple of photos to be used to promote the event. Lucky for me it was around sunset. A similar shot taken that evening was used by the Kent County Chamber of Commerce’s 2016-17 Directory cover.

Double Woods Christmas

The small MD Eastern Shore town of Rock Hall has a couple of Christmas Traditions. When driving RT 20, the major road into the town, a few miles North of town there is a area called Double Woods. It’s call that since there are woods on both side of the road. Over the years the residents of the area have decorated that stretch of road for Christmas. A few years ago this was the biggest and best display.

A Quiet Place

I began attending a weekly networking meetings in early in 2018. One afternoon after the meeting I decided to explore a few of the quiet places on Kent Island. I had been to Ferry Point Park before, but it had been a few years. It was the same as it as I remembered it. And it is one of those Quiet Places I like to go to.

You can have the idea of a photograph in your mind for awhile, plan and wait for it for a long time. Sometimes you can accidentally come upon something when you aren’t even looking for it. This was one of those times.

Butterfly Garden

Eastern Neck Wildlife Refuge is not all that far from where I live. However, I hadn’t taken a photo trip there. In September I decided to finally go and caught lots of butterfly photos. I plan on making this location one that I return to quite often. Come to think of it, another trip needs to be taken soon.

Early in 2018, since I do not have a Gallery nor am I associated with one, I thought it would be nice to create what realistically would be a Gallery Show only it would be posted online on my Web site.

This is the 6th one I’ve done. The others were:
Icy Kent
Sunsets
Delmarva Christmas
2018 Remembered
Reflection and Reflections
Summer of ’19

Thank You
