Delmarva Scenes

See more about my Gallery Shows below:

In the spring of 2015 I began a project I call Delmarva Scenes. Actually even before that, but it was in 2015 that I formally named it Delmarva Scenes. While I’m traveling throughout the Delmarva Peninsula I photograph the usual, unusual, beautiful and no so pretty scenes of the Delmarva Peninsula.

As part of the project I created the Delmarva Scenes Web site to market some of these photographs as Fine Art Wall Art and Greeting Cards.

This is a small gallery, just 4 photographs. One corresponding to each of the defining scenes. Do they fit each of the 4 categories? I think so, do you?

The Usual

With miles of shoreline on the Chesapeake Bay, you don’t have to go too far to see a glorious Chesapeake Bay Sunset. I’ve never been to the Pacific Ocean, but I imagine that these may rival them. But then again I live on the Delmarva Peninsula and may be a little Bias. This photo is available on one of cards in three different Greeting Card sets, Sunsets, Rock Hall and Kent County, at Delmarva Scenes-Cards

The Unusual

I used this photo as an unusual site simply because not only does it feature an old barn, but also an old farm truck. Unfortunately in my view there are way too many Abandon Barns on the Peninsula and it’s almost more of a usual sight, than an unusual one. This photo is available as one of the photos in the Abandon Barns Greeting Cards set.

The Beautiful

To me there are many beautiful scenes on the Delmarva, but who doesn’t think that this shot of the docks in Chestertown during the last hour of the day isn’t beautiful.

The Not so Pretty

There are many not so pretty scenes on the Peninsula. Blighted towns and communities are there as they are everywhere. I chose this as a not so pretty scene of fish bones. I am pretty certain its the remains of a fisherman’s catch after he filet the fish and threw aside the bones.

I hope that enjoyed the photos in this small Gallery Show and that you’ll go see more photos at the Delmarva Scenes Web site and support me with a purchase there or support my art at Patreon.com/delmarvascenes

Early in 2018, since I do not have a Gallery nor am I associated with one, I thought it would be nice to create what realistically would be a Gallery Show only it would be posted online on my Web site.

This is the 8th that I’ve done. The others were:
Icy Kent
Sunsets
Delmarva Christmas
2018 Remembered
Reflection and Reflections
Summer of ’19
Favorites from Past Online Shows
A Dozen to Show
